Well, my mom has decided to home-school me. The reason for this is that I have a 85 in my Latin class… I told her I would drop Latin and take an easier language like French or German, but she says she is still going to home-school me, which I don’t want to happen.

Suddenly occurred to me last night that perhaps the reason why kids who’ve gone through the public schoool system view home educated kids as “geeks”, “lacking in social skills”, “weird” etc is that our social skills are more subtle, mature and sophisticated than their’s and it takes them some time to catch up!

Maybe whilst that “catching up” process takes place, the social skills of your average home-schooled kid *DO* appear totally out-of-kilter with, and ‘wrong’ when compared to, the social skills of your typical ex-public school kids.

I go to a school with 13 people in my grade. I am consistently being made fun of and i just can’t do it. It is not just that i hate school for that reason it is because i dread going there, i hate the environment. I know you might say change schools but i really want to be home schooled. I think i cant focus when i am in school. How can i convince my parents to home school me?

The reason i ask is because i am trying to convince my aunt to let me do insight online next semester. Because my alternative high school does most courses online but i don’t like it and they are not challenging. I can’t go to a regular school because i would get behind.

I have decided to home school my daughter when she enters middle school because I think that those are the hardest years for a kid. If I do HS through 6th 7th and 8th grade, can I still put her into a local High school, What requirements would there be in order to register her and prove that she was school for the 3 year absene?
I will be home schooling in Texas, I was also planning on social activities like ballet and Karate. The reason I want to put her back into school is so that she can have her high school memories too, I just want to give her a good basis for when she enters high school.
also where do you buy textbooks, Any personal pointers on your experience?
