Gina asked: I am 14 and I have gone to both public and private school and neither has worked with my schedule. Now I am checking out home schooling and it seems really interesting. I checked out a few online high schools like the Laurel Springs School but I just want to see what people think about it. Also if you can tell me any more online schools to check out that would be great. Thanks!

cupcakequeen asked: We have an 11yo, and 8yo and a 4yo. The older boys are in mainstream school. The little girl is due to start prep next year. We have debated for the past year about whether or not to home school. I would love to hear from anyone - particularly people who were home schooled and how they viewed the experience - especially relating to job prospects and university. We live in Brisbane Australia.

I feel rather neutral. I couldn’t care less.

Lord Vader asked: I work with a woman who just told me that she and her boyfriend are going to home school one of their kids (who isn’t behaving well in school)… they blame the school. Anyway, she has a high school diploma herself and her boyfriend is a high school drop out. They are supposedly going to home school this 15 year old.
Question: Don’t people who home-school their kids have to have some kind of higher education?

I am tired of people saying it is better if you are public schooled. I am 15 and in 11th grade and have been home schooled all my life. ( I have loved every minute of it) How about you?
For Thinking… my parents don’t teach me I learn of the TV because they both have jobs and don’t have time to teach me.

Lauren asked: I don’t know much about it. I only know a couple of people in my circle who are home-schooled. One is born into a Mormon family and are very religious and the other one the poor child suffers from social anxiety disorder.
What I wanted to ask was is that is home-schooling meant for children who are not “normal” or not mainstreamed. Do they suffer from some sort of mental illness, social phobias, overly protective parents? what?
Sorry if I come across as offensive but I just want to know more about it.

I’ve heard that home school kids are not as social as kids who go to school, but they’re smarter then the kids who do go to school

Lynn asked:
Looking for a church that home schools their children and also has apostolic or pentecostal beliefs..
If there is a church with apostolic beliefs that the people either home school or the church has a school, that would be great.
Does the Apostolic Tabernacle in Springfield have a website?

Barb asked: I think it will be interesting to know how many home-school students will choose to home-school their own family.
It is sad for those children that were not given a good home-school situation.
I guess I should have asked about people that were homeschooled for 12+ yrs.

Is it because these Non Professionals make theProfessionals look bad? Or is it because the “System” loses the almighty tax dollars when children are schooled at home?
