Are your parents giving you the choice to continue home schooling? As for attending a public school for 10th. grade it depends on how you feel about it. Personally I wouldn't because the high schools for public schools are a very different environment from an home schooling environment.

It would be a completely different lifestyle. I went to private school for 1st-8th. It was extremely difficult when I went to public high school for 9th-12th. Those 4 years were hell for me!

If you decide to go to public school, it would help if you have a few good friends that already attend the public school you would be going to. I'm not going to lie, it will be difficult especially with the way kids your age treat each other. Life can be very clique-y so you'll want to brace yourself.

Good luck with your decision.

Eh, probably not.

Academically you're probably ahead of everyone else, navigating the beaurocracy would be hell, and school is really overrated.

Just take some community college classes, AP tests, SATS, whatever. Do some hands on junk with whatever you're interested and get some letters of recommendation.

Socially, you'd probably be really bored if you're like me. The whole thing is just lots of screaming idiots crawling all over each other.

It really depends on what you want and need. As others said, look into the colleges you think you'd like to attend and find out their policy on homeschooled students. This may lean you more towards public school or it may simply leave the door as wide open as it is now.

Think about what you want as an education. Think about your learning style and personality. You don't have much time left before college, if you're planning on going, and this will be the last time for you to have the schooling style you currently have. Think about what you know about the high schools where you are--how the students are, what you may have heard about the teachers, things like that. Think about extra activities that may be available at school that you might want to do, but then evaluate whether it would be worth it.

I know one homeschooled girl who went to school starting in grade 9. She was an only child, and shy, with divorced parents and was finding it very difficult being at home at that age. I am meeting more and more kids who are homeschooling all the way through and some kids who were pulled out of public school and never, ever want to go back.

It depends. At this point, I'd lean toward home schooling until college. The bureaucracy of trying to graduate from public school could be very frustrating. Finish laying the foundation solidly at home. . . unless there is a particular thing you feel you're missing out on that is terribly important to your future goals.

I'm in pretty much the same situation except opposite, i'm going into 11th grade and i've been going to public school, but now this year i'm going to homeschool. But anyways, if you want to try something new then I suggest you try public school..it's different and if you don't do well you can always go back to home-schooling.

Do you think you should? Just be prepared it's a culture shock. I was public schooled until 10th grade then decided for 11th grade I wanted to be home schooled. I was back in public school in 2 monthes. That's just my preference though, I need to be social.

Well it's really up to you, but I was homeschooled k-12 and wouldn't have gone to public school if you had paid me.

well this can be tricky because most colleges do not accept a home school diploma as a valid diploma. if u know what college u want to go to, u may want to do some research to see if they will take a home school diploma. i was in the same situation and i decided to go to high school because most of the colleges i wanted to apply to didi not accept a home school diploma.

Only if there are classes you think you need. If you've been homeschooled that long, all that may be useful are the recommendations from teachers and the extracurricular program.
