No, they consider other factors as well, but the test scores give them a way of evaluating whether you can do college level work. If your test scores are average, you’ll still be able to get accepted into college.

Doing average on something is NOT the same as doing poorly. As long as you have something else to support your claim that you can handle college work and that you’ll contribute something to campus life (which is really what you’re trying to prove when you apply to colleges, and there are lots of ways to do that) you should have no trouble getting into college. Colleges also look at your transcripts (which you should get from your homeschooling program if you were in one or which you/your parents should start making right away), your extra-curricular activities, and the essay you write for admissions. Most colleges require an essay, and you really should write one even for the colleges that claim and essay is optional.

Of course you can! Make a College list of the ones you want to go to and then you can see what their requirements are and if you meet them. If you don’t, see what you can do do raise your scores.
Talk to the Admissions Director and ask all the questions you have in mind. Make a list of them, that way you won’t forget what you want to ask!
Best of luck to you!
