I live in Maryland, would I be allowed to be home-schooled just the rest of this school year?

Yes, you should be allowed to do that, though I would check with your local high school first to make sure you would be able to transfer over correctly. Your mom would need to keep detailed records for the time you were home schooled. I am being online schooled right now but may go back next year, I just explain to people that I was having a hard time but am now ready to go back. Good luck with whatever you do!
