Treatment
Panic disorder can be effectively treated with a variety of interventions including psychological therapies, medication, and self-help techniques, with the evidence that cognitive behaviour therapy has the longest duration of effect, followed by specific selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor Many people who suffer from panic disorder are worried that their panic attacks mean they're 'going crazy' or that the panic might induce a heart attack. 'Cognitive restructuring' (changing one's way of thinking) helps people replace those thoughts with more realistic, positive ways of viewing the attacks. Johnny

Okay, so you're mom says she won't home school you, but if you live in a large enough area, near or in a big city, I'm willing to bet there are home school communities, where you could possibly get your education there. Some of these home school communities, from what I've seen work almost like regular school only the class size is really, really low. (i'm talking 5 people or less here) for each subject and a different parent teaches different subjects. That's not everywhere, but it could be a solution. I know its not exactly what you want, but it could be okay, for your needs. You might want to do some research on the net about it. If its really, really bad, (and this is the LAST option) just drop out and take the test for the GED. You obviously have a real problem, and its not being solved.

I'm sure you've already tried medication to get rid of your panic attacks, so maybe you could try homeopathic methods, accupunture or perhaps hypnosis? I know it sounds crazy but if I was in your situation I'd try every method available to me to get rid of that...because you are not going to be in high school forever and then what will happen? Good luck. T.

People that don't deal with panic attacks and severe anxiety tend to condescend others who do. I just ended up fighting a whole lot through highschool and that didn't help at all. Ever thought about just getting your GED and working? In the meantime you could work on your anxiety and hopefully go into a trade school or college when you're better at controlling it. This world sucks and the lack of empathy in it will simply drive you insane if you expect any of it. I've always thought of a certain song line to myself, "Walk on boy, ain't nobody in this whole damn world gonna help you carry your load". Good luck friend. Travis
