You have to take the SAT if you want to go to a college or university that requires the SAT. sara

SAT are only required when you apply to colleges. You should take them your junior year of high school, whether or not you are home schooled or in a school. They are not required if you are going from being homeschooled to a public/private school drip

I’m home schooled too, and in order to go back to my old high school I just have to test back in. It’s not the SAT but sort of like a final. Not all school’s do that though, it just depends if the place you get your books from is credible enough. I do TTU so I might just have to have the transcripts from there. Barbiee?

Some colleges prefer the SAT, some the ACT. You will have to take one, the other, or both, unless you apply to an alternative-style college that doesn’t use standardized tests.
Look at the application requirements of the specific college(s) you want to attend to see which you should take. Kat
