School and home life during World War 2?

What roles did woman hold? Did they hold jobs (if so, which ones)? And did having jobs make having young children difficult, and what was the solution to this problem?
School:
What was school like in England during World War Two? (appearance, uniform, grades?) What curriculum was taught?
I have tried researching this myself but I was unable to find the answers that I was looking for.
** also, any information about the evacuation of children would also be appriciated.
